Youth Counselling Service

ICAP Youth Counselling Service:

A Place of Hope and Restoration

Asking for help with a substance misuse isn't an easy thing to do. Taking the firststep, whilst the hardest, is the vital one. At ICAP we provide a safe, compassionate and non-judgemental space where young people are respected and listened to and helped to work towards full recovery.

Who can access the service?

  • young people aged 16-21 years old who are caught in the grip of drug and/ or alochol misuse
  • their families who need support and guidance.

Whilst ICAP has an underlying Christian ethos, its counselling service is available to all young people and their families.

Specialised assistance is available for those young people presenting with co-morbidity issues.

How can we help?

ICAP's counselling service offers a safe place to explore with the young person the underlying issues around his/her particular dependency. It will provide:

  • an assessment of the substance misuse;
  • support for change in behaviour
  • information and education about risks

and will seek to:

  • empower young people to make informed choices; and
  • explore the reasons for their substance misuse and its potential longer term consequences and impact on their lives

ICAP's counselling service will also work with relapse.

ICAP offers a unique, holistic approach to its counselling service, addressing not only the physical needs, but also the emotional. psychologiocal and spiritual needs of the young person and their family members.
